Distant Lights is a progressive rock band whose cohesion of powerful lyrics and incredible instrumental fluency is as captivating as it is complex. Breaking the mold by featuring cellist Jon Dexter, soloist of Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly, the group offers something beyond the normal concert experience. While favorable comparisons have been made from Radiohead and A Perfect Circle to Soundgarden and Metallica, Distant Lights' unique symphonic visceral sound is what most clearly differentiates the Austin, TX quintet.
