Healing the Children Mission Statement:
Healing the Children is a non-profit organization focused on
providing medical assistance to children who are unable to
obtain it. This organization was founded in 1979 and has since
helped over 225,000 children in more than 95 countries. Our
medical mission to Neiva, Colombia has been serving the
medical needs of impoverished children for 25 years. Over this
time, our program has grown from 20 team members to over
70 from 4 different countries, and now includes operative and
non-operative care for children. Our program has now provided
free surgical care, speech therapy, and other types of care for
almost 4,000 children. Within our surgical programs, we have
provided free cleft lip/palate, plastics, and orthopedic
surgeries. Our Neiva mission is a labor of love that bring
together our team and all levels of Colombian society; local
volunteers, scouts, local and state government, two branches
of the military and the national police. This team approach is a
strength of the program and allows the mission to perform over
180 surgeries over 5 days, every year. Thank you for supporting
