Description
The famous holiday lights on the River Walk are turned on each year the day after Thanksgiving and remain on from dusk to dawn daily till just after the first of the New Year. The lights will remain on this year through the night of January 13th, 2020.
Event Details
We invite you to experience the spectacular display of over 100,000 lights (2,250 strings of light) draped over the towering bald cypress trees that line the River Walk.
Please note: The 2019 Ford Holiday River Parade is held on Friday, November 29th. After 4 pm that day River Walk is accessible only with a ticket to the parade. Beginning the next day, the River Walk is open without a ticket.
Visiting the River Walk to enjoy the spectacular holiday lights is free. The River Walk is a public park and is open every day of the year, 24 hours a day. The lights are a gift to the public from the San Antonio River Walk Association and the City of San Antonio. Holiday lights are on the downtown portion of the River Walk. Our friends at the San Antonio River Authority have added lights North of Downtown in the Pearl District.
Please check our website for other events that coincide with the holiday lights such as the Ford Fiesta de las Luminarias, Ford Holiday Boat Caroling, and the Holiday Artisan Show.
