H-E-B Big League Weekend

Description

Over 61,000 fans saw the Texas Rangers defeat the defending World Series Champion Kansas City Royals by scores of 7-5 and 13-6 in the 2016 edition of H-E-B Big League Weekend. 2017 will mark the fifth year for Big League Weekend, a two-game Major League Baseball exhibition hosted at the iconic Alamodome in Downtown San Antonio. Turning the Alamodome into a baseball facility is no easy task. Ryan Sanders Baseball collaborated with AstroTurf to build a 133,000 square-foot custom field for the Alamodome floor. In addition to the turf, 300 cubic yards of dirt is brought in each year for the base around the infield. Custom dugouts, bullpens, netting and walls are also installed.
