St Joseph's Society Hall

Set up in 1885. At the season of the establishing of St. Joseph's Church in 1868 at that point, and for a long time from there on known as the German Parish, there was additionally composed a St. Joseph's Benevolent Society. Following a couple of years, as a result of contrasts, a division happened, and two particular social orders of men - one known as St. Joseph's Catholic Benevolent Society and alternate as the Roman Catholic Benevolent Society, worked autonomously of each other inside the limits of the area. On Sunday evening, January 18, 1885, meeting in Meyer's Hall on Alamo Plaza, the two social orders were converged into one single unit to be known as St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Benevolent Association (St. Joseph's Society) - the legitimate title of our Society. St. Joseph's Society raises stores for Catholic philanthropies and gives grants to approaching rookies at neighborhood Catholic High Schools
