Who is TEAC? We are a group of energy advocates who strive to educate the community, network with likeminded individuals and promote the further advancement of our energy sector locally and nationally. What does TEAC do? We hold social events, energy education days, and advocate the energy sector when legislators propose a bill that helps or hurts the industry. We connect people to promote a better understanding of the energy industry and the far-reaching benefits to our community. We help young adults realize the importance of this industry and future career opportunities. We shed light on legislation that will burden consumers, stifle the industry and cripple our economy. Why does TEAC do all this? -Texas leads the nation in energy production, primarily from crude oil and natural gas. -Texas produces more crude oil than any other state and exceeds even the federal offshore producing areas. -Texas leads the nation in energy consumption, accounting for more than one-eighth of the U.S. total. -With 27 petroleum refineries that can process more than 5.1 million barrels of crude oil per day, Texas leads the nation in crude oil-refining capacity. -Texas leads the nation in natural gas production. Almost one-third of the 100 largest natural gas-producing fields in the United States are located, in whole or in part, in Texas. -More than one-fourth of the nation's proved natural gas reserves are located in Texas. -Texas leads the nation in nat
