INFO ABOUT THE ORGANIZATIONS (INCLUDING PSI CHI ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA), THE ACTIVITIES, AND THE OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES UIW PSYC SOCIETY Psych Society is the student organization for psychology majors/minors, and students interested in psychology. Any student who is interested in psychology may join. Psych Society offers psychology-based community service events for students, & promotes interaction between community, faculty and students. Typically, students work in pairs to organize events (with the assistance of the officers and faculty advisor). Join UIW Psyc Society through OrgSync (on-line) and "like” this page! UIW PSI CHI INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Psi Chi is THE international honor society in psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of "encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology.” Membership in this organization depends on academic achievement—check your UIW email box each semester for an invitation to join, or self-nominate (see criteria below). Eligibility • Be enrolled as a UIW student (or EAP and CIW student) • Have completed at least 24 credit hours overall, and at least 9 credit hours of psychology courses. • Be a PSYC major or minor • Have a psychology GPA that is at least 3.00 • Have an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of their class – this cutoff is posted and changes each semester!
