Welcome to the Olmos Park Fire Department. Our mission is to provide service of the highest quality in fire and EMS protection to the residents and businesses of the City.
The City of Olmos Park has one fire station that houses two Fire Engines and one Quick Response Vehicle (Rescue 1). Our newest Engine is equipped with a Compressed Air Foam System that is especially efficient at extinguishing interior structure fires. Our department has 14 paid professional fire fighters working 24hour shifts with always at least three firefighters on-duty. Olmos Park works closely with Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills fire departments. All three cities will respond to a structure fire in one of the three cities.
The majority of our calls are EMS related. Our Rescue 1 responds with at least two Emergency Medical Technicians while Alamo Heights sends a Mobile Intensive Care Unit certified ambulance and staff simultaneously. Rescue 1 is normally able to respond within 2 to 3 minutes from the time of dispatch with the Alamo Heights ambulance normally arriving within another 3 to 5 minutes. Our medical director is directly available to the firefighter/medics on scene to help guide the patient's treatment and determine need for transport or referral to a local medical provider when appropriate.
We strive to serve with compassion and caring. Through on-going training and education, we pledge to continue the tradition of providing our citizens with the very best fire and EMS protection.
