Get hands-on instruction from Mana New Media Resident Artist CHiKA in a one-day projection mapping workshop for beginners at Mana BSMT.

Future Mappers will provide students with a practical foundation for making installations using MadMapper. Projection mapping technology can turn almost any surface into a dynamic video display. MadMapper can warp animation and blend projected images so they fit perfectly onto irregularly shaped surfaces.
Students will learn the newest techniques in projection mapping and leave with their own projection-mapped artwork. They will also enjoy free thirty-day access to MadMapper.

- How to pick the right projector
- Basic projection mapping with MadMapper
- Exercises in origami mapping
REQUIREMENTS
- No prior knowledge of video art is required, but students with a commitment to digital technology are preferred.
- A MacBook Air is not recommended.
- At least 8 GB and preferably 16 GB of RAM is recommended.

CHiKA
CHiKA is a resident at Mana Contemporary’s BSMT New Media Program. Her practice reveals the combined influences of her experience as a professional graphic designer and as a participant in New York’s underground audiovisual scene. CHiKA’s work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Hammer Museum, San Francisco; Museo Regional de Guadalajara; and Matadero Madrid. She has taught in the US, Europe, South America, and Asia.
