This is an online course. You can take this anywhere you have an internet connection. You do not have to be present in our area to take the course!
This 4-week, online course will focus on the nervous system anatomy, physiology and holistic physiology.  Every Monday, we will release course materials for student to download. Specific herbs and viewing the physiology of the nervous system through the eyes of the herbalist will be stressed as well.
The nervous system is a very complex physiological structure that does more than simply coordinating musculoskeletal actions.  We will study the two major divisions of the nervous system (central and peripheral) as well as the autonomic, enteric and somatic nervous system.  However, we will also explore the relationship between nervous system disorders and our sense of self.  The concepts of stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, PTSD and other disorders that have a relationship with the nervous system itself.
We will cover basic anatomy and physiology of the nervous system to include synapses, myelination, action potentials and sensory physiology.  We will also look at a number of various physical disorders of the nervous system and possible holistic approaches to:

Trauma (physical and emotional) recovery
Multiple Sclerosis
Epilepsy
Bell’s Palsy
Sciatica
Neuralgia
Parkinson’s
Trigeminal Neuralgia

Finally, we will examine root causes and holistic (nutrition, lifestyle and herbs) approaches to help deal with the emotional and psychological issues such as:

Insomnia
Depression
PTSD
Anxiety
ADHD
Addiction

We will release course materials in our online classroom every Monday morning. Handouts, videos of webinars, Q & A forum and a final quiz will all be accessible through the online classroom.  There will be a live class session tentatively scheduled for September 6th for Q&A as well as a course review.
Each pathophysiology module now includes an optional medicine making option for all students who want to participate.  This will be an exercise that helps students to use their materia medica for the course and create a formula that is specific to what is learned in the course.
